About the Programme
The ESMRMB is committed to foster and support engagement in the society among researchers at an early career stage and strives for their active participation in the society’s activities. To that end, the ESMRMB Early Career Fellowship Programme provides exceptional early-career researchers with resources, mentorship, and visibility to push their research career to the next level.
As part of the fellowship, researchers receive:
- Personalised Mentorship: Guidance from an ESMRMB scientist, receiving invaluable insights and career guidance, tailored to your needs (indicate preference for mentorship type, i.e. senior scientist or peer, name suggestions, or research field, in your letter of application).
- Two-year membership in the ESMRMB Early Career Researcher Committee (extension possible): Collaborate with peers to contribute to the society’s outreach and engagement.
- Active participation in the ESMRMB Congress Planning Committee: Gaining valuable experience in organising major scientific events and networking with key figures in the field.
- Financial Support: Waived registration fees for the ESMRMB Annual Meetings in 2024 and 2025.
2024 Call
The ESMRMB Early Career Fellowship Programme is open for applications to two fellowships.
Eligibility criteria
- Current member of ESMRMB (https://www.esmrmb.org/membership/)
- PhD/MD completed in the past 5 years (i.e. on or after 19 June 2019)
- Attendance of at least two of the past three annual ESMRMB meetings (i.e., ESMRMB 2023 Annual Meeting, 2022 Joint Annual Meeting ISMRM-ESMRMB & ISMRT, and ESMRMB 2021 Annual Meeting)
- Submission of an abstract as first author to the ESMRMB 2024 Annual Meeting

Terms & Conditions
Applicants will be notified by email in August 2024. Please note that registration fees cannot be reimbursed. In case you registered and balanced the registration fee for the 2024 ESMRMB Annual Meeting before being accepted for the Early Career Fellowship Programme, the ESMRMB will not refund any amount after acceptance to the Fellowship Programme. Applicants not accepted to the fellowship due to the limited number of places available will receive the opportunity to register at the early registration rate for two weeks after being notified.
