Imaging augmented by hyperpolarized Carbon has been on the market since about 20 years. High technical demands on the scanner and paucity and expensive equipment for the generation of hyperpolarized 13C has limited the technique to very few centers – and mostly to preclinical settings. New technical developments promise to facilitate the step towards clinical applications. Also understanding metabolic alterations in disease models has gained more clinical importance due to new therapeutic approaches in oncology, inflammation, and cardiovascular disease.
This workshop is intended to bring together the different active working groups on hyperpolarization in Germany and central
Europe: We believe that it is time to build a network to identify essential needs, exchange ideas and think about common projects – all with the aim to create a common understanding on what has still to be done to make 13C hyperpolarized MR imaging a clinical useful addition to metabolic MR imaging – the place that it deserves based on its unquestionable potential.
Strengthen the network, participate in building the future of HP-13C imaging
