This intensive four-day workshop provides a comprehensive introduction to the design, construction, testing, and characterisation of radiofrequency (RF) coils for Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI). Combining expert lectures with extensive hands-on practical sessions, participants will gain both the theoretical knowledge and practical skills needed to design and build RF coils for MRI research applications.
Led by internationally recognised experts in MRI hardware development, the course covers the fundamental principles of RF coil technology, from basic circuits and surface coils through to volume coils, phased arrays, double-tuned coils, RF safety, validation methods, and coil characterisation. Throughout the workshop, participants will construct, tune, troubleshoot, and evaluate a range of RF coil designs using professional laboratory equipment.
