Programme

A Warm Welcome

Dear friends and colleagues,

It is a great pleasure to welcome you to our 36th Annual Scientific Meeting taking place in Rotterdam, the Netherlands: a vibrant port city, where exceptional art meets revolutionary architecture as well as a fantastic culinary and nightlife scene.

You will have the opportunity to immerse yourself in a completely new congress experience, which now combines the advantages of a focused workshop with the broad, scientific scope of an annual meeting. For the first time, the ESMRMB Annual Meeting will be organised around three major themes:

  • Machine Learning in MRI – Acquire, Reconstruct, and Apply
  • Gadolinium-free Imaging
  • Efficient MRI

The educational programme and plenary sessions, as well as the Roundtable Discussion and Hot Topic Debate will focus on these three topics.

Scientific sessions, however, will cover all topics, with the first presentation in a session selected from the last-minute abstracts. This programme structure will allow you to gain in-depth knowledge in one the three major themes while combining it with scientific sessions to broaden your views, enhancing the educational and scientific benefits of attending our congress.

Our annual meeting has been successful in cultivating integration and collaboration between clinicians, physicists and radiographers, between junior and senior researchers, and between the fundamental and applied sciences.

On Thursday (Oct. 3), you are invited to the annual Welcome Reception – a great opportunity to meet all your fellow researchers and greet both new and long-time friends!

The ESMRMB continues to be the platform for preclinical and biological research. To encourage interactions within this community a dedicated pre-conference day (Frontiers in Preclinical MRI, Oct. 2) is organised on preclinical imaging and spectroscopy.

Furthermore, the new ESMRMB working group GREC (Gadolinium Research & Education Committee) will be meeting on Oct. 2, enabling you to get fully informed on the latest insights on the safety of gadolinium-based contrast agents.

Rotterdam is a city of innovation that ranks as a top European tourist destination. The literal highlight of our meeting, will be the Be on Top with ESMRMB Dinner and Networking event on the top of the Euromast on Friday night (Oct. 4). Be sure to secure your ticket to this exclusive event (limited availability)!

Other sites you might want to visit during your stay in Rotterdam, include the harbour (a tour by boat is highly recommended), the Markthal (modern architecture combined with small eateries), Museum Boijmans van Beuningen, and the cube houses.

We hope you will have a great congress and will enjoy your stay in Rotterdam!
