Support Programmes
EAST-MEETS-WEST - PROGRAMME:
The ESMRMB is pleased to announce the East-Meets-West Programme aiming to support the attendance of clinicians and scientists from East European countries at the 22nd Annual Scientific Meeting in Basle, by waiving their congress registration fee.To be eligible for support, applicants must be citizens of an East European country. In addition, applicants must work in the field of MR in one of these countries.
Applicants are requested to submit:
- an application including their name and business address a curriculum vitae
- a one-page essay describing their present work in MR and the reasons for attending the Meeting
All documents shall be sent to the ESMRMB Office "EMW Programme", Neutorgasse 9/2a, AT-1010 Vienna / Austria.
Applicants who are members of the Society and presenting a scientific contribution at the Congress as a first author will be preferred.
STUDENT SUPPORT PROGRAMME:
The ESMRMB is able to support the attendance of students at the 22nd Annual Scientific Meeting in Basle, by waiving the registration fee and by granting € 200. To be eligible for support, applicants must be enrolled in a full-time undergraduate or graduate programme, or be residents in a clinical department and must not have obtained a doctorate or equivalent degree before January 1, 2001.
Applicants are requested to submit:
- an application including their name and address
- a supervisor?s letter of recommendation
- a confirmation of eligibility for a student grant, preferably by a University administrator
- a curriculum vitae
All documents shall be sent to the ESMRMB Office "SSP", Neutorgasse 9/2a, AT-1010 Vienna / Austria.
Applicants who are members of the Society and presenting a scientific contribution at the Congress as a first author will be preferred.
ESMRMB 2005 - YOUNG INVESTIGATOR AWARD - Win € 1,000.-
The ESMRMB announces the competition for the Young Investigator Award for the 2005 Basle Meeting.
The competition is open to young clinicians and scientists at the undergraduate, graduate and postgraduate levels who fulfil the following criteria:
- You have to be under 35 years of age as per January 1, 2005.
- You have to submit your abstract(s) via the Electronic Abstract Submission System at www.esmrmb.org and check the "Young Investigator Award" box at the relevant submission step. The deadline for abstract submission is May 18, 2005.
- You have to submit a full manuscript to MAGMA before May 18, 2005. Please note that this is a major criterion for eligibility. Instructions for authors can be found at www.esmrmb.org.

- You have to be the sole or first author of the abstract that has to describe an unpublished work in the field of MR in medicine or biology.
Finalists will be selected on the basis of the quality of the full manuscript submitted. The Young Investigator Award competition will be decided in two parallel oral sessions, one for methodological and one for clinical topics. The Scientific Programme Committee will award € 1,000 to each winner and € 300 to the other two finalists
